The Public Art Unit’s focus is on visual arts in the public realm, for the education, appreciation and enjoyment of the general public. Erehwon has a line-up of well-renowned artists in the fields of painting and sculpture, among other forms of the visual arts.
At present, Erehwon’s Public Art Unit is undertaking a historical mural project for Quezon City. The multi-panel mural has been commissioned by the local government in line with the city’s Diamond Jubilee celebration to be launched in October 2014. Ten renowned Filipino visual artists from the Erehwon Art Collective are now at work on ten different artworks, each depicting on canvas a key event in the city’s past that helped shape and mold the nation’s history.
The ten-panel mural will be on permanent display at the balcony of the QC Hall main lobby to raise historical awareness and, at the same time, develop art appreciation among the general public. The ten participating mural artists (in alphabetical order) are: Grandier Gil C. Bella, Leonilo “Neil” Ortega Doloricon, Edgar “Egai” Talusan Fernandez, Florentino “Jun” G. Impas, Jr., Maria Lourdes Prado Inosanto, Othoniel “Otto” M. Neri, Dario B. Noche, Simkin “Sim” S. de Pio, Edgardo “Eghai” A. Roxas, and Pablo “Adi” Baen Santos.
